Classic Cars Fill Ryon Park To Benefit The Special Olympics

Vintage cars, like a 1927 Santa Barbara County Sheriff'sDepartment paddy wagon, below, that Bob and Jill Gendron examine,descended upon Ryon Park in Lompoc on Saturday afternoon for the9th annual Lompoc Police Department Car Show for Special Olympics.In addition to the classic cars visitors were treated to music bythe '60s rock 'n' roll band, Unfinished Business. There was also asilent auction that featured a diecast model of the "Kookie" car,driven by actor Edd Byrnes. Kids, like Eme Grace Tate, 5, ofLompoc, could participate in pedal car races and jump in the bouncehouse. All of the days activities benefit the Northern SantaBarbara County Special Oly
