~li~ Comments Sony announced Friday that "Gran Turismo 5" has sold 5.52 million units worldwide since its November 24 release, and 1.25 million in the U.S.Those numbers bring the cumulative worldwide sales for the Gran Turismo franchise, which debuted in 1997, to 60 million, Sony said. Gran Turismo 5 is actually the ninth installment of the racing game; after several delays , it finally made its debut last month.As of December 6, sales in Europe totaled 3.56 million, followed by 1.25 million in the U.S., 160,000 in Asia, and 550,000 in Japan.
