The company had a long standing history of making model cars based on several movie and television series, including Batman and James Bond. The first Corgi Batmobile was produced in 1966. The model car was painted matte black and featured wheels with red bat design on gold hub caps. Collectors often refer to this model as the 'red-hubs' Batmobile.
